Ara Market of Faridkot City and District SBS. Nagar village Lalewal affected by African swine fever
The Punjab Government has approved Ara Market of Faridkot City and District SBS. Lalewal village of the city has also been declared an African swine fever affected zone. Swine fever has been confirmed in the samples sent from here by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in Bhopal, the national high security veterinary institute.
Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said that the “Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases in Animals Act, 2009” and the “National Program for the Control and Eradication of African Swine Fever” for the prevention of disease in these places.
